Nick Uricchio is running for State House to bring common sense and practical solutions back to state government.

Nick is a lifelong resident of James Island and Folly Beach. He started working at 15 years old at restaurants like Woody’s Pizza and Seashell on Folly Beach. After graduating law school he worked as an Assistant Solicitor, holding violent offenders accountable and helping keep us safe. His backyard floods every time it rains; his wife works seven days a week, and Nick works two jobs just to pay for healthcare. He’s running for South Carolina House because he understands this community and wants to give back to the home that gave him so much.

Nick will prioritize the issues that matter most to local families, deliver top-notch constituent service, and fight to protect our coastline while improving the overall livability of the Lowcountry.

As our voice in the State House, Nick will focus on:

  • Fighting to lower the cost of living by lowering taxes for working families, bringing down utility rates, and making housing more affordable
  • Improving roads and bridges and easing traffic congestion
  • Mitigating floods and strengthening drainage systems to protect our neighborhood
  • Standing up to irresponsible development that strains our infrastructure
  • Working across the aisle to keep our communities safe, hold criminals accountable, and stand strong with our first responders
  • Re-establishing reproductive freedoms, because these decisions should be made by women and their doctors—not politicians or the government
  • Advocating for strong public schools and standing with teachers

About Nick

Nick Uricchio is a lifelong James Island and Folly Beach resident and a proud graduate of James Island High School. He earned his undergraduate degree from Coastal Carolina University and his law degree from Charleston School of Law. A third-generation attorney, Nick follows in the footsteps of his grandfather, the late Paul “Pope” Nicholas Uricchio Jr., and his father, the late Michael A. Uricchio Sr. Nick learned to be a servant leader and put people first from his mother, Claire Hoefer, who is retired from MUSC and still lives on James island. In 2019, Nick joined the Ninth Circuit Solicitor’s Office in Charleston County as an Assistant Solicitor, where he worked to hold violent offenders accountable and help keep our community safe. In May 2023, he joined Query, Sautter & Uricchio, LLC, focusing on helping everyday people navigate difficult legal situations.

Nick is a devoted dog owner, music lover, and fan of stand-up comedy and NASCAR. He and his wife, Morgan, live on James Island and are proud, active members of the community.
